Yes, Community Care... There is a Santa Claus!

On Wednesday, December 19th, 2001 (5 days before Christmas), an article was published in the St. Catharines Standard stating "more Christmas donations needed".  That evening, John Walker saw this article and contacted Betty-Lou Souter, the Executive Director of Community Care to find out how Walker Industries could help. 

First thing the next morning, John came in to the office, gathered the employees, and read the article to them. With tears in our eyes, we conference-called Community Care to get their "wish list".  The Walker Industries "Deputized Elves" then split into Food, Clothing and Gift Certificate Teams and went shopping! By 5:00pm that Thursday, our teams had completed their lists.

At noon on Friday, December 22nd, Santa John and his elves delivered the gifts to Community Care.  Again, with tears in our eyes, we presented the greatly needed donations. 

The Walker employees involved not only helped Community Care, we also were reminded of the true meaning of Christmas!
