29, 2002 - RELOCATION OF MOUNTAIN ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS
After 10 years of
searching for a solution to the deficiencies of Mountain Road, the Region
of Niagara and Walker Industries joined forces to create an elegant
solution to the problem through the creation of new Regional Road 70.
This project allowed the taxpayers of Niagara and Walker Industries
to share in the benefits of the new road.

On Thursday,
November 28, 2002, Bill Costello, President & CEO of Walker Industries
receives the 2002 Niagara Escarpment Commission Achievement Award on
behalf of Vineland Quarries (a division of Walker Industries) for the
exciting and innovative new method of rehabilitating land by creating
an Experimental Vineyard.
