Holiday Wine and Cheese Reception

Neighbours of the Duntroon Quarry are invited to attend a wine and cheese holiday reception hosted by Georgian’s Public Liaison Committee (PLC). The event takes place on Wednesday, November 22 from

6 to 8 p.m. at Mylar and Loretta’s Restaurant in Singhampton.

The PLC invites all neighbours to come join them for some holiday cheer. If you are planning to attend, please contact Rosemary Ackermann at 705-445-2300 ext. 223 by November 17.

February 2004 - Georgian Aggregates Receives Prestigious Award

Georgian Aggregates and Construction received a Property Enhancement Award for the Duntroon Quarry from the Aggregate Producers Association of Ontario (APAO) at its annual conference in late February 2004. The award included a plaque and seven gold bars, indicating that the Duntroon site meets the award criteria in every aspect, including entrance to the site and perimeter screening, environmental controls, signage, trucks and other mobile equipment, and appearance of the office, employee areas and overall plant.

"We're very pleased to win this prestigious award for our Duntroon Quarry, which is also headquarters for Georgian Aggregates and Construction," vice president and general manager Ken Lucyshyn said in accepting the award. "We put a lot of effort into maintaining the site and it's great to see it recognized."

Gord Miller, environmental commissioner of Ontario, presented the award to Georgian.

Walker Industries Holdings Ltd., Georgian's parent company, won the Community Relations Award from APAO for its Vineland Quarry in southern Ontario.
