Waste disposal remains a major environmental concern and a high priority challenge for both the private sector and municipalities. Recognizing that mined out sections of its home quarry would provide a secure and convenient solution for this critical issue, Walker Brothers Quarries established Niagara Waste Systems.

Our Niagara Waste Systems Limited site is designed and operated to meet stringent provincial regulations and standards. Precise environmental impact monitoring is carried out not only by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, but also by a team of independent consulting and analytical firms. Each landfill cell is carefully prepared prior to use - layered with a thick compacted clay pad, a granular drainage mat and a piped leachate collection and treatment system to prevent any environmental degradation.
