Anten Mills Pit

The Anten Mills Sand and Gravel Pit is located on Horseshoe Valley Road, northwest of Barrie. This pit has been operating since 2001 and under our ownership since 2011.

Materials are being extracted from the Oro-Medante Morain to supply the road construction and concrete/asphalt and winter sands market. ‘A’ and ‘B’ gravels are produced here as well to supply annual municipal road upgrades.

The rehabilitation plan for this pit is to match the perimeter elevations and gently roll the slopes and contours inward to a common catchment area. Ground cover will be applied and seeded with a grass fescue.
