Edgar Sand & Gravel Pit

Edgar Sand & Gravel Pit is located on the 7th concession, northwest of Barrie. This pit has been operating since 1990 and under our ownership since 1996.

Materials are being extracted from the Oro-Medante Morain to supply the road construction and concrete / asphalt sands market. ‘A’ and ‘B’ gravels are produced here as well to supply annual municipal road upgrades.

The rehabilitation plan for this pit is to match the perimeter elevations and gently roll the slopes and contours inward to a common catchment area . Ground cover will be applied and seeded with a grass fescue.
