The Leamington facility was the first Canadian N-Viro® facility and has operated continuously since January 1996. The biosolids (produced at the Pollution Control Centre) are dewatered through centrifuges to 22-25% total solids prior to processing through the N-Viro® facility.
The municipality owns and operates the facility and Walker Environmental provides technical and marketing support under a long-term contract.
The N-Viro® facility is located at the Leamington Pollution Control Centre, near the shores of Lake Erie. The facility serves a population of approximately 28,000.
Approximately 6,000 tonnes of Leamington N-Rich® is produced per year.
