Recycling Solutions – Woodwaste, Railway Ties, Asphalt Shingles and Clean Soils
Walker Environmental is committed to creating resource recovery solutions that help contribute to the circular economy and increase landfill diversion. In our resource recovery efforts, we participate in reuse, recycling, reintegration and regeneration activities to separate useful materials and other resources from things that might otherwise be considered waste and ultimately destined to landfill.
Our Niagara campus location retrieves these materials and processes them to create a number of new products such as manufactured soils, alternative low carbon fuels, recycled asphalt products and livestock feed supplements.
Currently, the Resource Recovery Area accepts:
- Pressure-treated lumber
- Chip board
- Medium Density Fibreboard
- Particle board
- Blue skids
- Painted wood
- Stained wood
- Railway Ties
- Asphalt shingles
- Clean soil
- Clean skids
- Clean forestry waste (logs, tree branches free from leaves)
- Clean wood chips
