Walker Environmental working with CHAR Technologies and Dofasco

CHAR Technologies recently announced approval of a $1 million dollar grant for their CleanFyre biocoal project with participation from Walker Environmental and Dofasco. The grant will help further develop CleanFyre, a carbon neutral, sustainable, solid biofuel that meets steel industry requirements.

Walker Environmental is supporting the development of CHAR’s CleanFyre biofuel project as a feedstock supplier of recovered wood and residues and as a supply chain solutions provider of grinding and logistics services. Walker Environmental’s experience and expertise in recovering resources and managing waste is a key component to the development and implementation of this technology.

“We are excited to continue our support of CHAR as they develop GHG neutral products to replace fossil coal within the steel manufacturing industry” said Mike Watt, Executive Vice President, Walker Environmental.
