WE Doubles Down on Renewable Energy in Ottawa

renewable-energy-ottawaMoose Creek Energy LP, a Walker Environmental (WE) partnership company, recently opened its new 4.2 megawatt (MW) landfill gas-to-energy plant located at the Laflèche Environmental Inc. landfill in Moose Creek, Ontario.

Landfill gas-to-energy plants turn landfill gas, which is generated from decomposing waste, into electricity. The new facility at Moose Creek will generate enough green electricity to power 4,000 homes and prevent more than 100,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions from being released into the atmosphere.

This facility adds to the 6.4 MW landfill gas-to-energy plant at the Trail Rd. Landfill in Ottawa that WE and its partners designed, built, own and currently operate.
