Monday to Friday – 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday – 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Closed Sundays and statutory holidays including civic holidays.

Please note, due to new by-laws for COVID-19 passed by Halton Region and the City of Burlington, masks are required when visiting this site.

Acceptable Materials

  • Household waste, furniture, mattresses
  • Construction and demolition materials
  • Scrap metal
  • Drywall, shingles, PVS and ABS pipe
  • Soil, sod, dirt from residences
  • Recyclables (newspaper, cardboard, glass, cans, plastics)
  • Leaf and yard waste and natural wood
  • Electronics

 

This site does not accept:

  • White goods (dehumidifiers, refrigerators, air conditioners)
  • Liquid wastes
  • Paint cans
  • Propane tanks
  • Household hazardous waste
  • Batteries

 

Fees

Minimum charge for 58 kgs: $10.00
Weigh scale tipping fee: $172.00/tonne including HST
Passenger tires: standard weight charge
Truck tires: standard weight charge
Tractor tires: standard weight charge
This site currently accepts cash, MasterCard, Visa and Interac.

In an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we will temporarily only accept payment by debit or credit card with tap. We will not be accepting cash payments at this time.

In addition, some Residential Drop-Off diversion programs are suspended until further notice to minimize human contact and additional touch points. The following materials will be accepted as waste and charged as waste:

As of Tuesday, September 8, 2020 the following items will be accepted for recycling:

  • Appliances (Fee for appliances with CFCs)
  • Construction and demolition materials
    • Insulation must be bagged
  • Drywall, shingles, PVC and ABS pipe
  • Soil, sod, dirt
    • Charged at household waste tipping fee
  • Clean wood (not painted or pressure treated)
  • Clean (no rebar) concrete and asphalt, interlocking brick and cinder blocks
  • Recyclables (no charge)
    • Blue and grey box materials (newspaper, cardboard, glass, cans, plastics)
    • Residential leaf and yard waste
    • Scrap metal (clean metal only)
    • Electronics (display devices, computers, printers/peripherals; limit of 5 per category)
    • Used clothing articles
    • Passenger car and light truck tires with or without rims (limit of 10 per vehicle)
    • Lithium and alkaline batteries (both ends of lithium, button cell and 9-volt batteries must be taped for safety)

 

This site does not accept:

  • Household hazardous waste (paint cans, vehicle batteries, etc.)
    • These are accepted year round at Niagara Region drop-off depots. Please visit niagararegion.ca/waste to find a depot near you.

 

Fees

Minimum charge: $11.00 including tax
Household waste tipping fee: $116.99/tonne plus HST
Appliances with CFCs: $25/unit
Concrete/Asphalt (no rebar): $15.32/tonne
Tree stumps: $102.10/tonne
Clean wood: $74.90/tonne
Shingles: $77.71/tonne
Contractor leaf and yard waste: $74.90/tonne


Residential leaf and yard waste does not need to pass over the scales. Please follow signs to the residential leaf and yard waste drop off area.

Acceptable Materials (Pre-Approved)

  • Construction and demolition waste from non-industrial sources
  • Drywall
  • Industrial, commercial and institutional waste similar to curbside waste (i.e. lunchroom waste, office waste, janitorial waste, restaurant waste)
  • Grocery and other food waste
  • Roofing waste from non-industrial sources
  • Textiles
  • Non-hazardous household goods (no paints or oils)
  • White goods – refrigerators and air conditioners must be tagged showing CFCs have been removed)

 

Materials Requiring Testing & Approval

  • Industrial waste streams including sand waste, grinding waste, slag, sludge or any other waste byproducts of production
  • Railway ties and telephone poles
  • Soil
  • Empty containers or liners from empty containers that last contained non-hazardous materials (drums must be cut in two or crushed)
  • Roofing waste from industrial sources

Waste Transfer Acceptable Industrial Materials

  • Non-hazardous solid waste including industrial, commercial and institutional waste generated in the Province of Ontario
    • Construction and demolition waste from residential sources
    • Household waste similar to curbside
    • Grocery and other food waste
    • Roofing waste from non-industrial sources
    • Textiles
    • Non-hazardous household goods
    • Soil from residential areas

 

To obtain approval for industrial disposal of waste, you must:

  • Review the approval procedures
  • Complete the corresponding Waste Stream Information Sheet
  • If waste testing is required (soils, industrial process waste), provide copies of Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) analytical results from an accredited Canadian Association for Environmental Analytical Laboratories (CAEAL) facility
